Lesson #35: Obedience

Here's the lesson and here are my favorite talks on obedience.
"Obedience: The Path to Freedom" by President
James E. Faust, 1st Presidency at the time-We are individuals, but we live in families and communities where order provides a system of harmony that hinges on obedience to principles. Just as order gave life and beauty to the earth when it was dark and void, so it does to us. Obedience helps us develop the full potential our Heavenly Father desires for us in becoming celestial beings worthy someday to live in His presence.
"Strength Through Obedience" by President Thomas S. Monson (1st Counselor at the time)- "His revealed word vividly describes the blessings that obedience brings and the inevitable heartache and despair that accompany the traveler who detours along the forbidden pathways of sin and error."
"Spiritual Preparedness: Start Early and Be Steady" by President Henry B. Eyring (then Elder)- "So, the great test of life is to see whether we will hearken to and obey God’s commands in the midst of the storms of life. It is not to endure storms, but to choose the right while they rage."
"If Ye Be Willing and Obedient" by President Gordon B. Hinckley- "I believe that if we will walk in obedience to the commandments of God, if we will follow the counsel of the priesthood, he will open a way even where there appears to be no way."
"Commitment to God" by President Howard W. Hunter- Gives good scriptural examples of obedience including Joshua and Abraham.
